Can anyone help me figure out what it is I have? I have tried calling Bowen...emailing Bowen. I guess I haven't busted out the pen and paper and written them a letter haha. This has recently come into my possession but I have no idea what it is other than a Bowen knife. I assume the "B" of "JB" means Bowen but who's the J? Anything you can help with, I'd be most appreciative.

Who made it?
Where was it made?
What is it?
When was it made?

Thanks and happy holidays!

Thanks for replying! I had actually already come accross those websites. They started mentioning Tilton and I thought the emblem on that knife maybe could have been considered a cursive T. Mine clearly has a J though so I'm still stumped. I'm going to continue to try and contact Bowen and thanks for the help. Reassures me that I'm on the right path!

Still looking for additional info if anyone can help me to identify this. Is it custom? Production?
ANything would help. Thanks and happy holidays!

Post or have your post moved to the BR Levine sub-forum. Someone there will probably be able to help.--KV

I've had several of his blades: its Tilton Bowen from West Virgina. They are mostly D2 (I think). That's the small version tanto, I've had the large version and a small caper. Great knives. From what Country Knives told me that last time I was there, Mr. Bowen is getting up in years and has a very limited production now.

I have one of his hunters, D2 convex grind. Nice handy blade and nice sheath. I bought mine when I was very young....was about $100 I think. This is the first time I have seen his knives mentioned here, thanks for posting.

I got mine at Country Knives in Intercourse PA btw.

The "J" is James Bowen who was a partner of Tilden's. They were in West Virginia. I believe Tilden passed away a few years back.
