Bowie and Recon Bowie History

I recently ask Ron @ SOG about the history on the SOG BOWIE and Vietnam Series knives. He directed me to a GREAT article linked to the SOG website. The article was the best I've found so far but I would like to find some pictures of the originals or some stories written by the guys who used them. I have tried to surf the web with little luck and havent found any books. If anyone has located a web page or a book that covers this please let me know..

Sorry I didnt reply sooner. My job dosent allow me much computer time. I can only check in from time to time. If you find anything futher please let me know. I ordered a book By Maj. Plaster called The History or MacVSog in Pictures and I hope there will be a few pictures of the knives being worn.

I found a great picture of an original SOG knife on the below web site. The sites webmaster has done a GREAT job! Looking at it makes you really appreciate the detail SOG Specialty did in their reproduction!

Hi Danny,

Thanks for the link. That appears to be the real thing. Spencer has originals of both the 6" and 7" knives in his collection and those pictures of the 6" look just like the ones I've seen.
