Bowie, battered anvil and stilleto

A Bowie from some kind of water hardening steel I found in my crawl space--still working on the photography skills and smithing skills (as you can tell from battered anvil and shadows). Spacer forged copper, guard forged 1030, beeswax finish on all parts incl. sheath. Sheath of deer skin and burl.


Dagger of 1084, very thin blade. Quenched and tempered just fine--whew!

Thanks for the kind words.
It's very intimidating to post here considering all the excellent work that normally grace these forums. I'm just a beginner as the picts show and I consider these to be exercises--homework in a way. Wish all homework were this fun. THNX AGAIN.
