Killer!

One question though: at the choil-to-cutting-edge transition area, there appears to be a strange "waver" where the cutting edge moves off to the right? I've...never seen anything like that. Is it just a weird artifact of the camera, or a designed-in feature?

Jim

Thanks guys.
That is just from the camera angle. The blade and edge are true....

Yes of course, the cutting edge is "flattened outwards" because it's forged

Bruce...another gorgeous piece. Your work gets more and more elegant with each new blade. I like the narrower blade profile you used here. It reminds me of Price's and Bell's work.

I can't wait 'til you've finished my bowie

Ebbtide...what an terrific addition to your collection. Enjoy it

Tuvo muy mala suerte...se callo en mi cuchillo.

I can't believe it's gunna be mine!
You will part with it, won't you Bruce?

It's a long ride to Booneville from NYC...
I have to say (again) that Bruce is a great guy to work with. He got down on hisself for being late, I wasn't worried...but that's the kinda guy he is.
Bruce put up with my many questions and e-mails. We talked on the phone a bunch...
The best part, besides this absolutely bodacious bowie, is that I feel like I have a new friend...awesome stuff.
I did a photoshop rendering of roughly what I wanted and Bruce ran with the idea. It looks *way* better than what i drew. The Temperance Bowie is sinister and elegant, classic and old-timey. I like the comparison to the Price and Bell knives. I think Mr. Evans has grown into a niche here...I don't know if that is what he wants, but it looks like a nice place to be...to me

I can't wait for it to get here

Thanx again Bruce!

PS: Look for a post entitled "Eating crow & loving it" after the blade arrives

Ebbtide,

You hit it right on about Bruce... He's a pleasure to work with. For true custom -- one that's fitted to your wants/ideal -- then Bruce is definitely a custom maker to consider. If you decide to put that knife through the paces, you'll find that it function as well as it looks.

Bruce is a "sleeper" but not for too much longer with the stuff he has been making.

I don't think Bruce will remain a 'sleeper' for long if he keeps this up

The neatest thing was watching him come out with better and better pieces while I waited in line. There was the Price style dagger, and the hawks and then the chain damascus bowie. They just got better and better.
That was pretty exciting. Especially since it all started with the idea of a plain vanilla bowie (based on the one you had made last year) that grew

Get your orders in guys & gals!

Thanks for all the kind words here everybody....I love doing these type pieces,And trying new things with them....
I just keep trying to make the next one better than the last one...And I love when you guys give me the chance to be creative.Like when you give me a general idea and then say do what you think will look the best on it and be creative,It makes them allot more fun to make and I even get excited still when I finish a Piece like this ,Sometimes it takes me a couple of days to come back down off the rush I get when one if finished and You guys post up all these kind words,And I hope that I never loose that feeling when one is completed....
Thanks again to everybody,Let's see what I can come up with next....
