Bowie/hatchet/chopper hybrid?

Help me out folks... looking for a big knife with a stout blade for use on a trapline. Either a heavy bowie or some hatchet type knife that would be good for both cutting and chopping.

Khukri?

I do recall BFC member "Coote" uses one on his traplines in New Zealand. Here is one review he wrote... 15" Ang Khola as a Trap Line Tool

Hmmm.... Kabar makes a Cutlass Machete and I think a khukri version, too. For the same money. Not a bad idea. Thanks for the link.

Take a look at this weird little puppy produced by Browning. A friend got one in a trade the other day and we were both puzzled and amused by it. It seems to be something like a really heavy duty Ulu with a handle.
