I get what you are saying. Maybe “Frontier knife?” IDK.I realize its inaccuracy, but I still like using the term "Bowie" to describe any fixed blade knife with a clip point and cross guard; it's just a quick way to describe that setup. Might we eventually come up with a more accurate shorthand term?
You are gonna have to talk me into building ya a bowie.
Who thinks that?I get what you are saying. Maybe “Frontier knife?” IDK.
IMHO, it would be best as you described it, “fixed clip blade with cross guard”
Some people have a much broader view of what a Bowie is, its all very muddy. For example some people think folding knives are Bowies.
I know, I have thought about that. I have blown my budget for at least the next few years already. I love an older one In stag, brass guard and 8 inch Bade I have seen of yours with stag handle on another site. Very similar to a Puma original Bowie in stag. Found it.You are gonna have to talk me into building ya a bowie.
Khukri discussion at Himalayan Imports sub forum. HI Cantina. This place needs a dedicated bowie and other BIG KNIFE forum, and maybe someplace to discuss kukris! JMO...
In nearly 13 years as a registered member you have 58 posts on these forums. In all that time you could have discussed any number of large knives here in the "General Knife Discussion Forum" or in any of the sub-forums where they would have been germane. Others certainly have. This place needs a dedicated bowie and other BIG KNIFE forum, and maybe someplace to discuss kukris! JMO...
