Need a recommendation on a bowie knife I've been eyeing the Becker-9 for quite awhile, However the Gold rush by bear & sons is on my mind because of the style and the guard.

Other than that my other choice would be the Mtech extreme raptor, Trying to keep it below $100 at best :)

Those are three entirely different knives. It would help us help you if we knew what you wanted out of this knife.

I occasionally do go on hikes *like sturtevant falls* in California and I'd like to have something in-case of a bear I know I could use pepper spray too, also regularly walk on trails near my house wear cougars are seen.

*I could use my Izula but the cougar will cackle*

If it's a stabber you are looking for, maybe a Cold Steel OSS or Boar Hunter. They are both large and specifically made for stabbin'. There's a video floating around of an OSS vs water buffalo that's pretty interesting. In all honesty though, if you can carry bear spray and/or a firearm you would be much better off.

Good tough dog (Airedale), Svord Von Tempsky, Masai spear.

Out of the 3 you listed I would definitely go with the BK9... But not for bears. As a last ditch knife against a bear, it's got to be pokey enough to get through and poke the bear. While he's eating you and slapping the hell out of you with pie plate sized paws.

I would recommend bear pepper spray though. They make it specifically for bears. It works on cougars too, and people, and pretty much anything I would imagine. If you can carry anything, I'd suggest a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .454 Casull. Bear medicine.

However.... The .454 is enough to give the average man carpel tunnel going through a box of ammo...

Then I would go with the Extreme Raptor. That's got the scariest name. Might help. Knife design isn't gonna make much difference when you are fighting off a bear.

Though, the Bear and Sons might give you an "in" with the bear, especially if it has sons. Though probably it will just dismember you and feed your limbs to them.

Svord Von Tempsky.

That knife is just perfect!, I will have to save up for awhile to get one, even though it does equal the price of a customized Bk-9.

I'll pick bear spray in the meantime for my walks :)

The Ontario SP10 is also a good option. It has the quintessential bowie knife appearance, and costs about $50 depending on where you get it.
