I am looking for an American made folding Bowie Knife with a blade 3.5 to 4". I'd sure appreciate advice from the experts, respectfully.

There are many. What's your budget ? And the desired opening method ? Spydie hole, flipper, thumb stud, nail nick, etc. Autos OK ?

Thank you. Flipper and about $400 limit. Doesn't that seem reasonable?

Yes. Then go with good used Hinderer. Eklipse (3.5", no choil, see Mk-211 Mk-211 's post) or XM18 (3.5" with choil). XM24 (4" with choil) and XM18 auto are around $600.

There is also the old version of the Eklipse, I personally do like that blade shape better:

The Project X (3.7") runs around $500.

Are either of these made in America?

No, I know that plenty of members own both of these brands. They're well made knives, if you're on a budget.

That and if you don't care about that kind of thing.

There was the Spyderco Mamba at some point, if you can find it. Careful, lot's of fakes around, and made in Taiwan if that counts (it does for me).
