Just got this one done for a customer overseas. I realize it isn't huge compared to other makers knives but it is the largest knife I have made to date. The handle is not disportional but the pic makes it look like it is. My photography sucks!!!

Bowie.jpg

Specs:
Blade Length - 9 3/4" (from end of guard)
Handle Length - 5 5/8"
Total Length - A hair over 15 1/2"
Steel - 1095
Guard & Pommel - 416SS
Ferrule - 416SS & Copper Spacer
Handle - Stabilized Maple Burl

I fluted the top and bottom of the guard and did some filework in the middle (matches on both sides).

Had to use a canvas jacket for the backdrop as the knife was larger than any of my other backdrops! Really need to find better backdrops.

Looks great, Sean.
The photo is a little washed out (too much light reflecting off the steel) but it does show off the handle material. Got to love maple burl.

Sean, it's a pity you didn't get the camera angle right as I'm sure it would have shown the knife in proportion! I just checked the dimensions with my rule and it seems fine. Nice work I love the file work on the guard and the copper spacer material, just finishes it off nicely. Also it's a nice piece of Maple.

Thanks Rick, if I am going to start making larger knives I'm really going to have to revamp my photography setup. Would have been comical for anyone seeing me trying to photograph this one using my jacket as the background and lights everwhere.
