Here's a new one, the "Bowie-nep". It's 17 inches OAL, forged from W2. The wood is rosewood. The wrapping is woven cotton cord sealed with shellac and Frankincense rosin. The end pieces are steel.

Thanks folks!

Bluejaunte, it was partially inspired by the project we worked on in class, (guardless recurve clip point bowie), one of the rewards of having good students with good ideas. Thanks.

So folks,... I'm just curious what type of images it conjures up for you, and what type of person you think might carry something like this? I named it "Bowie-nep" as a synthesis between a Thai E-nep and an American frontier recurve clip point bowie, but what would you name this knife,... just curious?

Ditto what Butchesforge said. LOL

I might name it Thai-hy since it is a hybrid of east and west and conventional and unconventional.

tsunami,my thought:D

If you take your hand and cover the middle to edge of the blade, the rest of the knife is very linear and conservative. Straight lines, nice even taper to the handle, yada, yada, yada...

And then when you uncover the blade it simply breaks all the rules. CRAZY curves!

The cord-wrapped handle is very tasteful and themed well.

Boy, do I like it.

Tai, the idea would never have surfaced without your guidance or been realized without your hard work.

I hope you don't mind if I try something similar when I get around to my first integral project (in the distant future, I'm sure!).

I want to say someone like "The Lost Boys". You know, from the Peter Pan story...

... or some kind of Guru or Swami maybe...
