hahah im using a 4 inch RAID belt sander/disk sander :barf: :barf:

but next tool on my list is a kmg  i just need money

Good start. strong honest looking knife. I would go a bit further with the finner sand paper on the handle and wax or polish wood. That will bring out the best from the wood grain and extend the working life. I started using a bit of ordinary candle wax, then I liked carnooba palm. I have also used a number of liquid polishes and oils supplied by a wood center. Sorry I did not get the product names.

I got a few tips on file work from Bruce Evans web site. very good tutorials.

Good start, nothing wrong with the design or construction that I can see. Only thing is you need to work on the finish aspect, but without a good solid design all the mirror polish and gold and diamonds don't mean sqaut and it looks like you've got a good solid design. Make anouther, they only get better and some times eaiser!

Looks like a good user knife. The fit and finish is not yet at a point where you should consider selling knives, instead use them as templates to perfect your techniques.

Far better than I could ever do, keep it up!!!

Where in central Illinois are you? I am in Shelbyville.
The knife looks great for what you are using. I would hand sand it to 2000 grit or more. Wish I was making knives when I was 14 years old. :(

where is Shelbyville? i live in washington (by peoria) yep i just ordered some more stuff and i make this stuff all purty :)

I have metal detected the little old town square in Washington summer before last. I have a friend in Chillicothe that I detect with once in a while. Shelbyville is about 2 to 3 hours south east of there. We have a big man made lake that is a tourist trap every year, Lake Shelbyville. It is about 35 miles straight south of Decatur. You will have to take me hunting some of those monster bucks you have over there some time. :D

I still have the first knife I ever made at 15 in metal shop. I'm almost 62 now. Don't throw them away some day they will mean a lot to you. A little bit of your own personal history.
