Bowie recommendation ...

Can someone recommend a maker who offers heavy duty utilitarian Bowies, 8"-12" blades, with modest wait period, < $250-$300? Not fancy custom pieces of art, but durable hard use blades. My first choice is MMHW, but before I place an order, I was hoping to compare any other makers. Thank you in advance.

Try Bill Siegle he's a knife maker here on BF and he uses mostly 5160 and he makes quite a few bowie type knives.

I'll second this. I have purchase a number of his knives over the years and they are solid, comfortable to use and ship with a sturdy sheath.
