Went ahead and did a light etch on this knife, shrunk the guard, added a couple copper spacers and added some more file work on the ferrel that isn't seen in this picture. The blade is 1065 and 7" long. Right around 12" overall with kingwood for the handle. All the fittings are wagon wheel wrought iron, even did the nut out of WI on this one.

The handle really does it for me.

Don't know how you built it, but I really like that knife.

I get the 1065 locally in NW Portland, Or. I get it from Pacific Machine and Tool Steel. I'm not sure if you can mail order from them....
 
Thanks you guys! This was one of those knives that you change something just a fuzz, then you have to adjust everything else. Glad its mostly done now......
