Bowie sheath - advice wanted

Hello folks; this is my first thread in this sub forum.

Here is something I just finished for a bowie by John Hoover I bought on the exchange. It is a monster at 0.35” thick at the spine with a 9.5” blade.

Please let me know any comments or criticism to lend room for improvement on the sheath. I think I should have made the stitches closer together personally, and a finer waxed thread. Also it is slightly off center. I just do this as a hobby for fun and to save a bit of money.

The stud is from an old lamp; not sure if anyone else has done that before, but I think it turned out nice.

Thanks a lot for the link and the input. I agree I need to purchase an edge finishing tool and stitch groover.

I use a small antler tine (too small for a fire steel) and a fork with a broken tine (sharp edges of the break smoothed off).
