super c, chuddy does some amazing work:)
dantor, thats a beautiful looking sheath, rainwalker has some very nice sheaths, man busse fans must be keeping these guys super busy:)

the more im thinking 'bout it i may take a stab at crying my way through making one. we shall see. the blade is nothing fancy just an old tramontina carbon steel bowie, it's managed to hang on this long so i figured it deserves a new handle and sheath, wish me luck...
thanks again
ivan

wow impressive! really nice
any advice on where to get the basic supplies, i used texas knife makers for my handle supplies, they have a small selection for leather stuff, so i may try them or tandy leather factory, their selection is better, dunno. Trying not to spend too much at first, we'll see how it goes
thanks guys

Thank you Mike & Ivan.

Ivan, I'm no expert...Tandy and TXknife have done good by me.
TXknife will sell smaller pieces of, what looked to me like, good leather.
Tandy has all the goodies.

I've found that sheathmaking supplies are great gifts for those that don't know what to buy you at Christmas :)

For you DIY types here, know of anyone making black basket weave, ala cop belt style, in sizes wider than 2 inches?

Wider than 2"?
Sounds like a DIY project to me.
Check tandy leather for the fixins :D
They've got the leather, stamp, snap or rivet, buckle and dye.
Might be fun ;)

Another vote for Rainwalker,he is making me a custom frog/stud sheath for my DFLE(10 inch bowie).
