Finally got some digital shots of my L/VC Sand Bar Bowie & River City Sheath.

"DUH! This was supposed to go in the Gallery. I guess I 'backed up' too far  Sorry, feel free to move it."

Did Newt ever get around to making a leather sheath for these? He posted that he had the leather but I haven't seen a sheath. Please post a picture of the sheath if you have one. I would be interested in Newt's ability to craft leather.

Wally, regardless of which Forum, thanks for the post.. The sheath is certainly a step in the right direction, but I'm also waiting on Newt's leather for #7.
John, sent a note to Newt this week, he sez he's getting close to finishing some sheaths. I offered my services to finish the first one or two if he'd send me the pieces he's already cut, but haven't heard back yet. Guess I'll get back to finishing another bowie sheath I've started.

I haven't heard anything about the leather sheaths...
Just figured Newt is busy filling Armed Services orders & that's OK with me.
I'm sure, when he gets to them, they'll be worth the wait :)

Darn that knife looks tough. That is quite the ypsweep to the clip point. The blade looks coated, is it, or is it just blued? I like knives better with a none coated blade.

KWM, the blade is Parkarized, as are just about all of Newt's knives.
At the time, I didn't have the extra $ for the satin finish (and I wanted #13). I figured I could always polish it up someday ;)
The blade shape is a repro of a Cival War artifact, & I sure do like that old timey look!

I know what you mean about the Old Timie look. One of my favorite Bowies was made by Washburn. It's the same feeling, like maybe it really was at the Alamo.

I think I watched too many cowboy movies as a kid ;)
That's a beauty Jim, and the boots are a nice touch too.
