I wanted to give this Bowie a bold pattern so I used a low layer "W" with an accordion cut. The blade is 1084 & 15N20. The handle is ironwood w/guard forged from 416 and some blade steel for the pommel.

Very nice Gary!

Question.... have you considered submitting a knife in the ABS "Antique Bowie" judging at the Blade show? If not you should!

Steve,

Thanks. I've never done Blade. I have a shop in Branson that I keep open to the public at that time of year. I would enjoy that level of competition but I don't expect to be doing any shows that time of year. The only show that I have scheduled this year (besides my own where I never compete) is I.C.C.E. and they don't have a historic knife competition. [I wish that they would as I plan on making a "Bowie No. 1" this summer which I should have done by then.]

Thanks, guys.

bobasaurus--The ironwood was drilled and then slotted to accept the through tang. The butt cap was drilled & tapped.
