This is one of the prettiest pieces of Ironwood I have ever used, I got it along with 2 other pieces and this is the plainest piece of the 3. The Bowie OAL is 14" w/ 9" blade, 52100, hand rubbed satin finish. the guard, spacer and pommel are reverse twist.

You're really nailing these bowies Bill. Not only are your knives beautiful, but they have your own identifiable and distinctive style -not an easy combination to pull off by any stretch. I particularly like the way the large swirling pattern in the damascus fittings complements the large swirling grain of the ironwood. Beautiful stuff.

It's beautiful Bill but that's nothing new. Don't you ever get tired. You crank those things out like a production line.

You may wind up being a rich knifesmith! :p

In my eyes, a bowie is a difficult form to make interesting. You seem to pull this off, Bill. I think you are on to something here. Keep it up, bubba!

Damn Bill! Are you going to be bringing those to the hammerin so I can get some drool on them?

Thanks everyone for the great compliments and I hope your all having a wonderful Easter Sunday.

Peter, I had another knifemaker say that samething to me just the other day. But as a full time maker, when you put 8 - 10 hrs. a day in making a knife you can make one in a few days. I don't hurry on anything, matter of fact I'm probably the slowest grinder around, but when you love what you do there's no need to hurry. As far as the rich part, only if I hit the powerball will that ever happen. :)

Michael, cool this means you going then, I think you'll have a good time. I don't know if I'll bring these along or not, if I still have them laying around they will probably make the trip.
I'm heading up there Saturday morning probably around 7 or so, if you want to follow me, just let me know.

Thanks again everyone,

Bill

Bill that is awsome! That has to be the best looking iron wood I've ever seen, it realy sets the knife off. I'm realy starting to like iron wood, great stuff.

Real pretty, Bill. Great job! The plain carbon jobs get just as much attention as the fancy damascus pieces!!

Bill that is one beautiful piece. I love what you did with the gaurd and butt cap. Nice wood too. Looks like it'd just sail through rope!

Thanks again everyone for the compliments, I've been working on the sheath and finally finished it up today. I'm posting a picture, for I've had 2 e-mails asking what type sheath it had going with it.

Thanks again

Bill

Some people just naturally score all the good stuff. :D Congratulations Buddy.

As usual I've come along too late to say anything original so I'll just say Thanks Bill. That is awesome. How I missed it the first time around is beyond me.
