does anyone no if they are going to make a production xm 18 3.0 bowie grind.I cant carry a xm.3.5 in my state or town any more I got a stern warning.I love my xm3.5 warncliff but not a enough for a felony I just cant have that beauty and not carry it.now the production bowie grind is out wich I wanted so much but no xm3.0 yet.I love the generation xm3.0 it flips like its on bearings so smooth and fast I would love one in a bowie.so if anyone has a eta or even if he is making them post up.

You're problem is major one and you could even get into trouble for carrying a 3" if the right cop wanted to take advantage of some old laws up your way. Sorry for your and your 3.5" knives' loss!

But I'd jump on a 3" production even though I'm moving on to mainly customs only.

Rick, Rick, Rick, that would be a very fine grind in 3". J/K but it would be sweet.

If you place a tape measure on the tip of a 3.5 then measure to the end of cutting edge/front of choil...it measures about 3" maybe a tad over. Just sayin'

New York/N J residents buy out all fabric tape measures in recent week for unknown reasons- reports from The Wall Street Journal

Cop scratches head out of disbelief and can't decide whether or not to arrest said individual arguing over the length of his blade or simply shoot him and ask questions later.

What in the hell are you talking about and why are you talking about it in our forum?

To get back on point, there are no plans that I know of at this time for a 3" bowie. Can't say it won't happen though.

In an effort to not hijack the thread, I would merely suggest you bone up on NJ knife laws.
That being said, I think it's unlikely (read impossible) that anyone here knows what may come out of the shop at any given time other than the two guys running the place.
I handled a Bowie the other day and two things immediately came to mind. #1 I'm fairly sure a 3" wouldn't appeal to me and #2, I want a 3.5" BAD!

You really are one rude SOB. I didn't reply the first time you got an attitude but since you obviously couldn't see it was a joke based on the measured size by N2K's above post then I'll just spell it out. It was a joke about individuals carrying around a tape measure to justify the length of their blade. One would have to reach for said tape measure while obviously being questioned with a knife.....

I no the nj knife laws I just never had a cop take so much interest is size.im a chef in my back seat I have knives up to 20 inches.the law is 3 inches here diesnt matter about cutting edge just blade full size.of coarse a cop can arrest you for any knife but I am a good person when they ask if I have any knives I allways surrender them.man I hope they make a three inch bowie.they made a 3 inch for all the other production grinds.I just think it would also look great in a smaller profile.I lived in nj for 40 years and that was the first time the size of one of my blades came into question.lets just say he wasnt the nicest cop.he was harassing me also about my chef knives I was wearing my chef jacket.maybe rob can chime in to say if they are going to produce them.

OK. Not even going to read this stuff. Let me be crystal clear - this is a knife forum. Rick Hinderers Forum. Rick happens to support LE along with several other organizations. We are NOT going to discuss ANY of them here.
Clear? If not PM me and I'll ahed more light.

I didnt say anytging bad about the le just want to.now if we are going to see a xm3.0 bowie maybe rob can chime in with a answer.I think they made all production blades in both 3.5 and 3.0.right? did they make a skinner xm3.0?

Nope......so far no 3" Skinners or Bowies........or Eklipses........RHK has been bringing out some awesome stuff over the last year........so there is always hope that some of it will eventually make it into a 3" production blade........

I simply sited what we are not going to discuss. The stated "topic" of the thread is fine to discuss until the cows come home.

Hammer,

I'm going to post this here just so I know it's not lost.

I understand this is your house and it's your responsibility to keep the discussion oriented to your/Hinderer's liking and with that comes respect just like any other individual's house. I admit to breaking that line in your house and honestly can't believe I did that when looking back at it.

The last word out of my mouth when addressing anyone that "appears" to be an adult is either sir or ma'am each and every day of my life until that individual gives me a reason not to address them in that manner. I was raised by a set of standards which focussed on 1. Respect your elders 2. Being truthful 3. Never steal 4. Never cheat and deviating from any of those came a quick and harsh punishment. They may have sucked when I was a child but now I am proud of what them 4 simple household rules have made me become.

Being on the internet doesn't excuse disrespecting you in any way especially in your section so I apologize for my remarks. I had been in the hospital all day and was already aggravated then your tone really struck a nerve since I still hadn't put aside a foul language remark from a past post directed towards my ignorance. None of that makes my remarks acceptable but the least I can do is lend the apology.

I am extremely new to knives and this forum but in my short time of researching and reading/watching reviews I've found that RHKs are one of my favorites for many different reasons so would really like to stick around here where most of the knowledge is shared.

Sincerely
Alex

Alex, humor is very hard to convey in a forum because everyone's sense of humor is different. That is why all forums have smiley faces and other emoticons. Don't be afraid to use them so you're not misunderstood. SOB is not a figure of speech to me, it's an insult to my mother. Not acceptable.

damn I hope he does.I think they would look so cool and functional in the smaller profile.so would the skinner and eclipse.I have a feeling we will see the skinner or bowie first if at all.I can dream for now
