Anyone know anything about J. Nowill and Sons knives?

English maker - still in business. You should be able to find them via Google. They produce a range of fixed blades, not just Bowies.

You might also care to read this: http://www.britishblades.com/forums...-the-Sheffield-Fairbairn-Sykes-Commando-Knife (for the record I have a Nowill F-S from the 70's. If you want a Sheffield bowie, you might want to look elsewhere. I'm a Sheffield lad myself, but sadly a lot of poor quality knives are still turned out there (along with some good ones).
