Any of you guys have any experience with the Paul Chen/CAS/Hanwei traditional bowies out there? Steel, heat treatment, fit and finish? They look real nice in the pictures, but are they a reliable, well-put-together blade?

Thanks

Here's a thread I wrote on the Bell Bowie the biggest of Hanwei's series:

Excuse the spelling mistakes in that review, never read over things :D
Since writing it I have found out that with difficulty the frog can be removed and the tightness can be adjusted.

Heard some good things about them and I do like them if only they were all high carbon steel (outrider bowie is 440c) and preferably some reasonable quality one like 1050 (which I think is alright, plead ignorance don't knwo much abotu steel) and if they were differentially tempered with a hamon they would be so beautiful, the Bell especially in my opinion would look fantastic. Also apart from the Bell Bowie, they're rather too thin for my liking, the bell is 1/4 inch will the rest are verging on the lower end of 3/16 which i don't like to be honest.

Yours,
Pootsy
