Here's a couple more projects that where tossed aside and forgot about until recently.Cleaned all the rust off of them and stuffed handle's in em and put em to work.Yeah that's a piece of Osage Orange harder than a bull's horn and the adz goes thru like it's butter

That handle in the Adz is an old hammer handle not made for it BUT i swedged it on and it stay's put,so if it ain't broke don't try to fix it

Nice Steve if that Osage is long enough from the end grain looks like it would make a real nice bow.

That hammer handle look like it could have been fitted deeper in the eye to improve the fit, but if it stays put, like you say dont change it!

Cool hatchet, altho the handle looks a bit uncomfortable, to me anyways, i have rather average/smallish hands.

Handle was'nt made for the adz it's for a small ball peen hammer,it's just been laying around for ten years and finally found a good use for it.
Sorry about your hands :p

I used to make Bows for the Renaissance Fairs. Used both Oak and Osage. Man I miss that. I may hit you up on a couple of staves.

Sweet looking adze!

I've always wanted to forge an adze shaped like Alexander Weygers gouges with the points longs. I bet it would kick arse.
