http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=736522
started my first self-bow that weekend.
well circumstances and such left it sitting on the workbench for some months now. but finally created the time to get back to work on it.
thought ya'll might like to see some updated pix...

will add pix to this thread when its complete, ifn ya'll would like to see it done.
thanks

Looks like a nice bow. The last time I saw someone working bows was on a jig three years ago at an experimental archaeologist "conference."

Speaking of osage, I need to get me some shavings to dye with...

Looks great. Osage is beautiful wood.

ETA: Also, your sig line is among the most relevant and true on these forums. Hooray Beer!

looking good.. i love osage... i have been a trad. archer for many years and i still, have yet to build a good shooting selfbow..:(

Uh, YEAH! Of course we want to see it done! Looks like it's gonna be a nice bow.

Since our last shoot, I've actually had the itch to build myself a primitive bow. I suppose I should finish my other projects first...

yeah thats why it sat on the bench for so long.,..always have too many projects going on at once.

but i do think its gonna be a really nice bow. the rings are about 1/4-5/16" thick. one end will need heat straightened, other than that...shld end up working right nicely. got my fingers crossed anyways

Very nice! Please post the finished product. What about arrows and string?

Lookin good, and you have inspired me to do another. Can't wait to see the outcome with stats.

Looking good.A friend of mine designed a little gadget to make tillering easy.He showed me how to use it on this bow.If you need any help give me a call and I'll explain how to make the gadget and use it.It's too much to explain here unless I do an entire how to of several pages with lots of pictures and I just don't have time right now.205-486-7479
