Box Color ?

Checked in the FAQ area and couldnt find.
The box the knife comes in must help date the knife ?
Example 834UH one in a grey and black box with a red stripe
and one in a dark blue box with darker blue vertical stripes and a red horizontal single stripe ?
Does this tell anything on dates mfg. ?

Yes. It gives a general idea of the years of production. The "Sharp Idea" box was introduced circa 1984/85. The blue striped box was circa 2001-02 and the last box, the blue/gray diamondplate flag box was 2003-04. The clampacks mirrored the box changes.
