Here's one I've wanted to make for a while. A utility knife inspired by what I think of as the most utilitarian knife of all: The Stanley Knife, or Box Cutter.

Blade length: 125mm (4 7/8")
Blade thickness: 4mm (5/32")
Blade Width: 30mm (1 3/16")
Handle length: 110mm (4 1/2")

Blade steel: O1
Handle material: Canvas Bakelite
Guard/Pin material: 304 stainless.

The blade is satin finished, and the spine and choil are rounded.

Immaculately built and winner of "best Utility knife" last weekend at the Australian Knifemakers Guild Show. First show and first award for Will, definitely won't be the last.

Yep you can se thats a winner straight up! Good stuff Will.
Cheers Keith

That's a cracker right there mate - I'm 100% for "users" and this one totally fits the bill.

You might want to convert your metric measurements to imperial for our North American friends

All good!....Pete

Thanks for commenting guys. Regarding winning the award for 'best utility knife', it was actually a tie between me and Mr Del Raso, but he graciously passed it on to me. Thanks Peter!

Thanks Pete, good idea! Converted.

Mr. Morrison, you make a really nice looking knife. And, yes, the box cutter, certainly one of the most used knives. Hey, you actually put your name on the knife. A sign of pride, instead of some silly mark that says nothing and does nothing to identify the maker in years to come.

Beautifully crafted, Will and pure usefulness as well. Give us Yanks another 100 years or so and we might be able to speak Metric.

Doubt it. We're a stubborn lot, and if we made it through the industrial revolution without changing to a better system we probably never will. ;)

That's a knife after my own heart. I couldn't possibly ask for more. Love the spine detail. I have no idea how it was done, and that's what I like.

Congrats on the win.

Spot on! Love it.
If I had to cut 100 hay bales loose a day, this knife would be my "go too".
