Typically it will not, if it has some of the red that's typical with Box Elder it made fade to pink or light brown over time only if exposed to UV light. Most box elder burl is stabilized and should not fade. Below is Box Elder with red staining, this will fade the burl should not. Sorry to ramle.Does box elder wood inlays darken over time? I know that many woods will darken over time, especially if exposed to sunlight for extend periods of time.
