Does box elder wood inlays darken over time? I know that many woods will darken over time, especially if exposed to sunlight for extend periods of time.

I don't know about sunlight but have seen a picture or 2 of jeans staining the inlay. Renaissance wax helps that.

Typically it will not, if it has some of the red that's typical with Box Elder it made fade to pink or light brown over time only if exposed to UV light. Most box elder burl is stabilized and should not fade. Below is Box Elder with red staining, this will fade the burl should not. Sorry to ramle.

Thank you for the information. I know some woods like cocobolo will turn brown over time. I am glad to hear that it shouldn’t be an issue for the box elder inlays that I have. Thank you.

Your welcome, I have a small 21 with Box Elder burl inlays and they are the same as the day I bought it.
Here is a great resource for most any species of wood.
