Got these back from the shop, had sent them in to have the handles bead-blasted. Just thought I'd share some pics if anyone is considering having their micarta handles done this way. Also really brings out the 'grain' - if you will - of the micarta. I still have some micarta handled knives standard finish, but I really liked the feel after handling a pass-around knife with this finish. Enjoy

Thanks for posting these Feuer. I like Dozier knives (never got around to getting one though). They always look so down-to-earth practical.

I do prefer the ones handled with natural materials though... (and I saw some very nice ones in your other thread!)

Kind regards,

Jos

Great pics - Looks like a big box of fun! Tell us more about the Kit knife! Thanks for sharing

The Dozier shop previously sold the Kit Knife for the buyer to put the finishing touches on for themselves. From Bob's portfolio there's an article from Knives Illustrated dated October '96, saying within the box the kit came in was a finished blade, with the handle scales already counter-sunk for hidden bolt-rivets. All the buyer would have to do was take some material from the handle scales on the tang and from there epoxy and bolt them. After the epoxy was done, then you could shape the handles however you wanted. In '98 the kit sold for $85, but I'm fairly certain the Dozier shop discontinued the Knife Kit some years ago, I just don't know when.
