Showed this pic to Ethan at Spirit of Steel. He said the only other boxes he could recall were some old fold-up white boxes (Cincinnati?). I think Bladite has one or more of those. Maybe he'll share a pic.

I love that pic. I love it even more, now that I know a little more about box number 1. :D

That's alot of history there, in regards to the BKT Knives.

The one on the left, that was an '80s blue hair, Duran Duran era throwback. Um yeah, gets some of that.

Don't suppose you'd care to enlighten us about the "history".....

I remember the green box. My Camillus BK&T 10 came in one when I bought it at Kiesler's in Clarksville, IN. My dad bought the exact same knife that day and I'm pretty sure his hasn't left the safe since.
 
Left to right:

1. Blackjack (Effingham IL) era with Blackjack markings
2. Blackjack era with BK&T markings
3. Camillus (Camillus NY) green box
4. Ka-Bar (Olean NY) tan
5. Ka-Bar black (current version)

Preceding Blackjack were the Cincinnati-era Beckers. I don't have a box for any of those.

Although box #5 is well done, I actually like box #4 because it is unassuming and doesn't catch my wife's attention...

Just tell her, "Dammit woman, I'm the man of the house, I wear the pants around here, and if I want to buy another knife, I will!!"

Make sure she's asleep, in the shower, or passed out drunk. Those would be the safest times, me thinks. :D

She walked into the room when I was changing out the Grivory on my second 10... she said "Another knife?" and sighed disapprovingly. I said "I'm just changing the handles, this is the exact same knife you saw before!" Technically I didn't lie so...

Be sure and tell her the sizes change, along with the blade shape too. Modern Technology, what can't it do.

what all y'all hen pecked guys need is a storage system that guarantees the wife unit won't be messing with your toys :)

i would suggest a bucket of used oil, in the garage, and just drop the knives in that for intermediate storage. bonus! they won't rust! :>

have a friend get a storage unit in their name, and store boxes and receipts there, as well as long term collectibles. keep a safe for loose cash, and a futon. because if SWMBO finds out, you'll be living there ;)

i believe in complete honesty in relationships. as long as they are fair and balanced :)

I guess I need to take my comment back about the black box.

I looked at it again. Theres a blade on it. LOL I didnt see that originally, All I saw was the edge of the blade which looked just like a curved white line to me.

Now I like it..:D
