Today I was looking at the new tweeners and I was reminded of my childhood. I have an uncle who is the true outdoorsman camp fish hike hunt you name it and he has done it. at the same time I was reminded of my box'o'knives, each and every 1 of them was a need to purchase knife at the time which takes me back to my uncle. this man had only 1 knife and it went everywhere with him, I watched him hack down trees and split wood clean fish andskin game I don't think the thought of ever breaking his knife crossed his mind. it must be nice to have the peace of mind knowing that you found the right knife 4 every job. I think that's why I do not give up on my b k 2, I'm reminded of an old saying beware the man with only 1 gun . the more I tested it the more I like it , but letting go of the lifelong addiction of buying knives is a pretty tough thing. I sure do like that 17:(

Why in the world would you want to stop buying knives? Thats like giving up women.

It's nothing like being married. My wife has yet to let me clich, Fisk, or baton her.:p

How many back ups does the perfect knife need , How much time will I spend the day before trying to pick a knife to take with me, how many knives do I need to take, if you trust your knife why do you need to take more than one and maybe a backup

I'm kinda the same way..I realize that at this point..I don't NEED anymore knives...I have enough to more then last the rest of my days. Between my 16, 2 and 9 I have all the bases covered. and that's just in the Becker section....but I still WANT knives, lots of them, every one I see almost...especially dangerous to my pocketbook to visit the ''Knifemakers:For Sale/Fixed Blades" section of the Exchange!

I'm curious....what knife Was it your Uncle carried?

I have everything I need as far as different sized knives for different tasks. Thats one reason I never got a Machax. Too many knives and I wont use all the ones I have. But some still make me want to check them out. Now when is the UPS man going to get here with my Potbelly?

I'll have enough knives when I have two of every Becker, one for the safe, one for me.

You caught me I was in the exchange lol, his knife the best I can remember was about a 6 1/2 " blade stag and brass handled looked like a marbles or linder style clip point

Here lately every time I go into the woods I drag at least three of the same-ish style knife with me and end up spending all my time trying to figure out which is better beating the crap out of them instead of just enjoying my time out its starting to turn into work

This phase passes. I did it too. Would carry 16 pounds of steel to mess with during dirt time. Found myself not enjoying the outdoors since i was just testing knives and not taking it all in. but also found what I want in a knife. So it was a fair trade. Now I know which knife/s go and its usually one maybe two if I feel like chopping and the rotation rarely changes. Unless I get something new to try and knock the current one out of it's spot on my pack. Then its a battle royale and winner gets to ride shotgun. But its never a big to do, just some small tests and I know almost out of the gate which ill pick

Buying knives is such an addiction. My knife addiction is 3x bad. I am a trained chef so I look for kitchen knives, I practice FMA so I look for tactical blades and I like to play outdoors so I look at outdoor type knives. I sometimes feel dirty drooling over knives on the web. The wifey rags on me about what am I gonna do with all the knives that I have collected. Oh well.....men and our toys. Women just don't understand.

Tell her what i tell mine---"would you rather i collected women on the side or knives?" She good with knives ! LOL :D In all seriousness though, it is guns & knives for me, purses & shoes for her. She's happy, i'm happy.

After yesterdays run in with a sharpening stone the only thing keeping my BK 2 on top is the amount of time and money I have spent on it otherwise I would have drove it into an oak tree with a sledgehammer
