Box Storage

Due to coverage in a previous thread, I have begun moving the herd to those plastic fishing lure boxes and it is working great. They are all visable and with the knife and sheath in adjacent compartments it is easy to select the day's carry. Now the problem. I'm developing a stack of cardboard boxes and inserts. Since I consider myself a user, not a collector, I have no use for them. Someday, someone will be thankful that I didn't trash them, but in the meantime, how do I store them. They take up a lot of room, and I don't need to have them handy. I was thinking of garbage bags, filled, then sealed with tape, and labeled "Buck Boxes". I could then just stick 'em in the attic and forget all about it.
What say ya'll ? There have got to be some "good-better-best" ideas out there.

ok i also faced this issue ..
most newer boxes will fold flat and can be stored that way
with the paper work side and put in one large box
the rigid older boxes you will have to store in a larger box..
the LE hard boxes i get a gallon size or larger baggie
and put up to 4 in it and store in a larger box..

edit: NOTE you should put a note in each box as to which knife come out of it!!
i have boxes i did not do this with and now am not sure which box gets which knife
tho i can get a correct box on most all it may not be THE box it come in..

I'm like you, I am not yet "officially" a collector, but alternate between numerous users, with one being my favorite. I'm contemplating the same issues, too.

Dave's idea is the best! One should take the folded flat box's & paperwork and put them into a evelope....evelopes come in many sizes;) (all the envelope stuffed with boxes then go into a file box). If one was anal enough they would keep and inventory list of what knife box's are in each file box:thumbup:

LOL...if only that were my style! However, all my box's are stuffed into large plastic storage trunks. It will be a big chore for someone to get the right box & knife mated back up when i'm gone....but, that's their problem :p.
