Items may be deleted or added to at any time. I usually add to it if I'm going out of town with additional magazines and my Bark River Gunny.

I take this to work and leave it in the car as long as I can keep an eye on it, otherwise it goes on the jobsite. I also take it if I go more than 20 miles from home.

I go all of mine from Amazon because it's cheaper than ordering from Maxpedition. Be careful trying to save too much because I know two people that ordered from another company and got a knock off. You can tell Maxpedition quality as soon as you open the box.

Here's the link. You can see my review. Apparently they are out of OD Green like mine. You have to buy the holster abd smaller pouches separate but that allows you to customize.

I got mine from Spark at OneStopKnifeShop.com so I have no problem with knockoff.

You see a benefit to the gear-slinger design versus traditional backpack style?

Yeah the gearslingers are smaller than a traditional backpack, easy on off.
The best part is it goes over my left shoulder and under my right, all I have to do is grab the strap and pull up and the pack goes from vertical middle of back to horizontal at my abdomen for access to everything inside as well as the CCW pocket. Unzip the pocket and I can have my right hand with my fingers around my gun ready to draw and no one will know even if they are a few feet away. That is far less conspicuous than putting your hand under your shirt and on your gun. I can pull that pack around and be ready a lot quicker than you would think. If you look at the picture that's why the gun looks upside down if the bag were vertical, so it will be upright and in the right angle for this.

That's quite the setup.

I'd just suggest taking the leatherman and Curtis blades off the straps and put inside the pack. I've had the leatherman easily fall out before. That lead to buying another said leatherman!

No yo momma. Lol

I would put it inside when I go somewhere. I only have it there because I was using it at home just before I took the pictures.

Cool man, then great gear set up and you're good to go!

How long did that take to complete and what would you put the value at?

I put it together over a few weeks but it evolved over the first year and still does some. I've taken more out than has gone in. I literally just finished putting together the first aid kit before I took the picture, people had been asking about it so I decided it was time to share.

Cost...
The bag was $90 when I bought it, the barnacle was $20, holster was $20 (now $10), EDC pouch $25, 3x5 pouches (x2) was $12 each, battery keeper $20+. So the pouches cost as much as or more than the bag, but it organizes everything and keeps you from digging and allows you to take parts out to put in your pocket or another bag and then back to this one without repacking.

Just guessing on everything, approximately $550+ not including the gun and mag. When you start buying quality gear, especially for size and weight it gets expensive fast. You don't have to do it all at once and it needs to be individualized for you, not everyone will have the same things. I could do with less and often do when close to home, but this is my all in right before my BOB.

This is my bare minimum EDC bag which is also a Maxpedition mesh bag, small I think. I really like this one. Easy to lock up and take anywhere, it's mesh but you can carry it in the open and nobody can see whats in it.
Holds an XDs & IWB kydex holster, 2 extra mags, 20' paracord, earplugs, flashlight, keys, wallet, leatherman, lighter.

Now keep in mind I don't always have this on my shoulder, but just with me in the car, work, or house where I'm staying out of town. I just like being prepared for just about everything wherever I am. It's come in handy more often than I can remember.

Thanks brother. You were evidently a Boy Scout?
I have a few bags and some stuff to put in them but nothing like what you have. You've motivated me to get up off my duff and get the gear into gear.

Lol, yeah but no Eagle Scout lol. Between my dad and being in plenty of situations without what I really needed, I just evolved into being prepared. I try not to let it inconvenience me, if you are reasonably prepared it can go a long way in an unreasonable situation. Ever tried to change a tire with no tools or even with those junk tools your car comes with? Life can be like that all to often.

You don't want to be in a SHTF situation without something to get you out. (Shrug) Try it and it will either change your mind or it won't.

I know exactly what you mean. I too was a Boy Scout. Early on we went on a weekend campout and it rained most of the time. I was one of the ones without raingear. That never happened again. When you learn something the hard way, you tend not to forget.
