What do you guys do for knives without a sheath? I've gotten into doing more kitchen knives and would like to include a box with them. Something similar to how Japanese knives come with a box like this.20220106_210802.jpg

Thanks for any tips

I use pre made business card boxes with a bit of bubble wrap and foam padding inside. It's an inelegant presentation, but functional. U-Line is the supplier

these you can get made up at any box package supplier, you just have to overcome the minimum qty

This wooden one I had a lady on Etsy make up a bunch

I have received Chef Knives from Japan which have slid through their boxes. I would be inclined to use plastic blade guards for shipping and storage. The knives in the photo are not shoved all the way into the guards. One guard is oversized. The guards come in many sizes and can be cut to length.View attachment 1780377

I make my own boxes for smaller and larger knives that I do. This is my larger box for kitchen knives. I like using these but I may consider using premade boxes like others here in order to keep my costs down for me and buyers. Plus I'm finding that I am having less and less time to make these things.

Depending on the minimum, you could get a few makers from the forum to go in on an order. If it ended up being close to a size i could use I would be interested.
