garyz over in the dealers forum has a model with #1 on it. the grip does feel differently than reg. micarta.someone described it to me the other day as a "spongy" feel. he liked it.hope this helps.

I handled 1 at the Tacoma Wa show and to me it felt like a cat's tongue.Not overly agressive, seemed just right.Especially on the cast aluminum handle.
