Boys and girls, look what Blues beat you out of today! This was going to be the UBDOTD for $95 until Mr. Blues stepped into the picture and took this knife away from you.

If you can't see from the pix take it from old Uncle this is one of the best executed khukuris I've seen this year. After getting his quality bonus Sanu has turned it on!

I don't know if he can make more this good but if anybody wants him to try email me.

It's true. I'm to blame. But Uncle Bill only told half the story....

Here's the other half:

18" WWII by Kesar. Handle of Nepali "Hill Walnut". Scabbard by the sarki with no name.

But honestly, really, I was just asking Uncle Bill a simple question when all hell broke loose...(mostly in my checking account.

These are two beautiful knives. What is the size of the Sirupati?
The Kesar WWII should be sitting close to my Kesar 18" AK.
I can't wait to be again within uncle Bill's shipping reach.
Fausto

Fausto,

The length is 17" according to Uncle Bill. It's kind of like a BAS with a Chainpuri handle.

Bill Montana,

Nah, I like gators. I'll reserve these for other uses.

Hey Mr. Blues from far of the blue east earth I can see your luck of this day..Mohd

Fausto,

I've always been an admirer of the look of the Chainpuri handle but Uncle says they are not as practical as they have a tendency to get hit and damaged. This will be my first experience with one.

The handle on the WWII above suits me just fine. I love the look and grain of the wood.

Mohd, Bill

Thanks.

Blues,
It's a pleasure watching you operate! NICE K ! Looking forward to seeing you at the Fla. K ! Has Ray posted the dates yet??
My Friend, i now have my WW2 by Bura, so i'm now satisfied & just going to sit back & watch as you & Brian operate! With the Bura i am now above temptation!hee, hee. Can't wait to see what you score on next& there will be a next & a next etc.!jim

Jim,

Your WWII by Bura must be a beauty. Post a pic when you can. I have three pieces currently by Bura. A GRS, a silver mounted Gelbu Special and a CBKC.

So, you see, one piece by Bura may not end up being enough.

Don't know the FL dates, but looking forward to it as you are.

Hopefully Ray will let us know and we can pitch in and give him a hand with coordinating it.

... and de Nile is a river in Egypt. Sure Jim, anything you say ( wonder who still uses insulin shock or electro-convulsive therapy, looks like it's coming to that ).

Blues, this isn't a Chainpuri handle ( correct me if I'm wrong Uncle ) as the Chainpuris have the tang peened over the diamond shaped keeper without a buttcap and this one has a reasonably thick buttplate to protect it.

Thanks, Rusty for that clarification. I guess I was just going by the width of the handle alone. I just looked at the pix of the Chainpuris in the FAQ and your description seems dead on.

As this khukuri is neither fish nor fowl, and the blade style, according to Uncle Bill approximates the BAS, I'll just name this the BAStard Special, which may be particularly appropriate in light of who its going to.

In any case, it's a looker and didn't take much arm twisting to separate me from some more money.

Then again, every time I think of where it's going, it makes it much easier to justify.

I hope it helps all those worthy souls who by now have become part of our extended family.
