So.....the two beautiful women in my life went to some "Princess on Ice" show. Or something along those lines!

I figured that meant it was a good time for the boys to hit the woods.

First order of business was getting some firewood. Big D is using the tree break method.

My little one thought he was doing the same thing.....or something like that.

You can't do too much work without snack time.

The colors were really nice today. Good day to be out.

After putting out the fire, I don't know if the youngest was trying to imitate our cooking, our pouring water on it. Or maybe he was just trying to destroy my billy! : )

My youngest was a mess! Scratches on his face, he was playing in the charcoal and mud, dirt and leaves. Good thing the girls were still gone when we got home so that I could clean him up! : )

Thanks for coming along on our wonderful fall day.

Life doesn't get much better than a beautiful day in the woods with family. Offer me a billion dollars or the chance to experience a day like yours and don't be surprised when I'm still driving my Ford Escort next week.

Brian, awesome pics man, I agree with ya your kids are growing so up.
I can not believe how much older they look.
Jen is still beautiful as ever and the pic with you in it , well you
look good to man lol. I really like your hat too lol.

It looks like you had a great time out in the woods, I think what you guys did was way better than any Ice skating thing lol. Way to go you 3 guys.

What you missed the princess show?! Great pics, spending time in the woods with my dad was some of the best times, they will remember it. That's awesome.

Looked like a good time, I hope when they grow up they can remember times like that.

i don't get out in the woods as much as i use to but when i do it's always a blast watching my littler girl. congrats on a great day. i am not sure there is much better than bumming around the woods with the little ones. awesome pics

G'day Brian

Great to see you take your opportunity to take the kids bush for a while

You have obviously taught him the right way to do it. Much better than the "rowing the boat" way of using a fork in the tree :thumbup:

Kind regards
Mick

Those are some awesome shots bro!! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy it now because they do grow up very quickly...it just doesn't seem like it early on during the 3:00am diaper changes and stuff :)

Great pics!!! Excellent way to start 'em out young and grow alongside you - wisdom demonstrated. I'm also digging your son's hat - something i've over-looked with my "crew 'o two"!

What steel is "older son" sporting? Always a balance.....age/responsibility/maturity and of course the Mrs.! I've just ordered a pink Izula for 7-yr-old daughter and black Izula for 5-yr-old son (both name-engraved and with scales).

@Mistwalker - ohhhh i do not miss those "diaper days"! It's almost like getting a pay-raise when you're done visiting the diaper aisle - sooo expensive.

Thanks all for the kind comments. That is not why I posted the pics, but they are much appreciated

It is quite funny because I never know what hat he is going to pick to go where :D Usually it is either this one, or his boonie hat.

It is one of mine...of course! :D

3/32" A2, red linen over black paper micarta with mosaic pins.

He has been really excellent with his knives and acting mature about them. Tough thing to ask a "kid" to do. I started working with him when he was 4. Letting him cut with me, then letting him cut with me right next to him, until he got to the point that as long as I am within sight of him.

This year, he is actually starting to get good at doing stuff. It is pretty cool!

This knife is recent for him though. One of his other favorites is the Bark River Classic Lite Hunter. This pictures is from over 2 years ago.
