I picked up a few 940-121's and I became very satisfied with the TiCN coating on the hardware along with the clip. I contacted BM to make sure the clip was coated and they said they applied a light coat on the clip (it is a nice light greyish steel color in person, and in no way does this knife look like the online BM website pics).. Anyways, I've been using the knife exclusively lol and I'm no stranger to wear on my knives..
The TiCN coating seems to be holding up great, and there are no scratches on the clip (and I know I've banged it against the car door a few times).. My question is: does BM use this coating more for their Gold Class blades, and why don't they use it more on all the other production blades? - It seems to be very effective.. Even the internal axis lock parts are coated..
What's your experience with TiCN?
