Bradley 2 or Stretch Hap 40

I got the stretch in the other day and haven't carried yet till I decide if it's a keeper. It feels great, looks great and I like the blade shape, thin blade, 50/50 choil. My only other spyderco is a plain Jane pm2 which I love for its fit and finish and effortless open/close.

However I noticed the gb2 has a similar shape while not ffg and slightly heavier but superior fit and finish and some nicer handle materials. I thought maybe sell the stretch to pay for gb2 and maybe just maybe grab a dragonfly 2 hap40 later.

So what do you guys think. Gb2 or stretch hap40?

Thanks

I would keep the HAP40 Stretch and get the Bradley 2 later when I could. The Bradley 2 should be available for awhile but the HAP40 Stretch won't be.

I agree with m4d. Cool your jets and enjoy the Stretch. You can pick up the GB anytime down the road.

Thanks fellas. That rush hits you when you get something nice and new and you start looking at others too.

I probably don't have to tell you guys if you are on a spyderco knife forum , I am guessing it's the same for everyone.

Yep..what they said. When the Hap 40 Stretch is gone there gone not to return. GB2 is regular production and will probably be available a for good long while. It sounds like you like the Stretch so if you sell it then decide you want another one a year or two down the road, well, you're going to be paying more, possibly a lot more. Definitely more than a $110.

If you didn't like the Stretch then it would a easy decision. Sell it and get the GB2 but that's not the case.

Oh I hear ya, but sometimes we need to slow down and enjoy what we've got. Makes great practice for more than just knives. ;)

Down the road your stretch will hold more value where the GB2 will drop when the GB3 comes out. Hold on to it until the sprint run is over, you won't loose money on it. GB2 I already seen it on trade forum and craigs list for a good discount.

What everyone else said. I think the GB2 is a slightly better knife, but they are plentiful and that's not going to change soon. And instead of a HAP40 Stretch and a GB2, I just got 2 of the Stretches. :)

Good advice here, and I'm a Stretch fan, but the GB2 is phenomenal. I picked up the Endura in HAP40 because I I didn't have an Endura. I really want a Delica and Stretch though. HAP40 is some awesome stuff.

If you think you will buy the Bradley2 later then stick with the Stretch. I love sprints and am a steel junkie so when given the choice between a sprint and a regular production model I will go with the sprint. That said, I just picked up a Bradley2 and it is beyond nice. I cannot get it out of my pocket. I have long said that the Para2 or Manix2 are the best values in Spydieland. I feel pretty confident saying that the GB2 is now the best value. Dollar for dollar the GB2 is way more knife than the Stretch. If I was a knife minimalist, which I am not, I would go with the GB2. Since I am a knife hoarder my advice is; get both!!!!

I have to agree... I love sprints and love the Superblue Stretch, the size, the ergos and light weight, the steel. It is the only knife I have a backup for. Even so, the GB is just in a different league. If I can only afford one, I'll get the GB2.

Let's throw in Native 5 FRN S110V in for the best value category, similar handle as the stretch but with blade length of a Delica, and the steel is by far my favorite, it's a thicker blade stock, full flat ground, mmm..... And it's under $100!

Not a Stretch fan.

I would get a GB2 and see what all the hype is
that the GB fan boys rave about.

If you don't like it Flip it.. They go fast whenever they come up.

Chiming in on the GB2 love-in. It is the $140 large sebenza but arguably better. It's a tremendous value proposition in terms of blade:size/weight/price. Don't think of it as a sequel to the GB1 as they're quite different.

However, as this is a sprint vs production comparison, the earlier advice to prioritize sprints is the wisest course.
