I seen these in the new Knives Ill. Mag. and they caught my eye. They have a nice clean look to them. They have been compaired to a Sebenza in a article or two and seem to use all the same materials. Can this all be true? It seems to good to be but would like to get some opinions from owners, users or dealers that sell both. Thanks all for your time and knowledge.

"They're the most wonderful knives... in the world!"

heh, no they aren't.

Use advanced search, put alias in search term, select "title only".

I have both the Alias I and Alias II. I am quite happy them. I mostly carry the smaller Alias II during the week at work. I too thought that hey, a cheaper alternative to a Sebenza. Well, I finally decided to find out for myself about the Sebs and acquired a small Classic and a large Regular. There "is" a difference between a Sebenza and an Alias. Better fit & finish, tighter tolerances, in my case I obtained Unique Graphic versions and the lifetime guarantee from CRK. Now, is the tighter tolerances and better fit & finish worth the extra money? Well, I was skeptical and for me anyways, yes, the Sebenza is worth the extra $, especially because of the Unique Graphics which are one of a kind. Don't get me wrong, the Alias knives are excellent knives and I do carry one for EDC but they are a different niche kind of knife. If you are curious, do as I did and purchase one second hand for a cheaper price and then decide for yourself. There is nobody on this forum who will be able to convince you that a Sebenza is worth the money or not, you actually need to find out for yourself. If you don't like it you will more than likely be able to sell it for what you paid for it, so money lost.

Actually, I was just interested in the design of the knife and until I started my investigation, didn't know about all the hub bub. I just like nice, hi end folders. I have 4 large Sebenzas of different flavors but also have a few customs as well. I did get some interesting reading through the Search here and found many like them, some do not. If I were to buy anything, it will be down the road. I have committed to a couple makers already. I would just put the $165-$200 toward another custom when ready. They do seem pretty nice for the $$$ though. Would surely make a nice gift or a first knife. Thanks guys for the input.

I have the both the Alias I and the Alias II, and like them very much. If you look at them on their own without comparing it to a Sebenza, I think you will find they are very nice. Very good fit and finish for a production knife. Very tight lockup and smooth opening. I really like the blade shape. The only issue I have is the blue backspacers and thumb stud. That coupled with the beadblast Ti scales and the stonewash blade, really make them look like Sebenza wannabes. They are available now with bluish anodized Ti scales, which look really good, and don't look as much like a Sebenza knockoff.

mine is a heck of a work edc-its a alias 2 with partialy serrated blade-works great for cuting open thick plastic banding on skids with the serrated part-
smooth as silk opening, solid lock up-

buck mayo is also a nice piece in that range-wayamaya or something is the new one

never will be confused for a crk-but you can buy 2 for the cost of 1 crk-

The new Buck is called Waimea (it's an area in Hawaii), but it's quite small relative to even the small sebbie and AliasII.

The Alias knives are manufactured by Benchmade. Also there is a new variation on the Alias II handles called the "FIZZ". You can see it at NGK.
