Help me decide which one to get. Or perhaps a third option? This is going to be an edc knife.

I don't know much about the SERE,

but the alias is not a poor man's sebenza IMO

Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. I'd say go with the Al Mar Sere 2K. That particualr knife is still going strong after a few years. The steel is great and so is the lock-up. It is a bit on the heavy side, but you won't notice this after a day or two. Good luck!

Welcome to Blade Fourms Eric J, I don't own either but nothing beats expirence! Have a good stay here.

if you are leaning toward the Bradley, IMO the Buck/Mayo 172 is a btter knife for less moeny.

Thanks for the advice. After reading DaveH's excellent critique on the Bradley, it is now out of my list. As between the Buck/Mayo 172 and Al Mar S2K... For those recommending the Sebenza... it's out of my price range!

If you are down to those two, then I think the process should be simple:

Do you want a nice looking, classy, cut's like heck, relatively light weight but still sturdy knife? - Buck Mayo 172

Do you want a heavier, sturdier (perhaps), meatier, perhaps slightly less classy knife? then go with the Al Mar.

Thanks for the lead; I might just go for it, particularly learning that the Al Mar S2K weighs 6 ounces! Is there a write-up on the Buck Mayo 172? How does it stack up with the Sebenza?
