I am looking to get a nice and classy knife for the office. I am thinking of getting a Bradley Alias 2, or if I can come up with the extra funds a Small Sebenza. I am wondering how easy the titanium handles scratch? When I see pictures of these knives, it seems like they scratch easily, and scratches tend to bug me. Is there a difference in scratch resistance between the Bradley's bead blasted handle and the Sebenza's stone wash handle?

I really like my BM Mini-Grip and Stonewashed SnG DGG because I can bang them around and put them to hard use, and they do not show any scratches and little wear, but I do not think that either are nice clothes, office caliber knives.

If I like my knives to maintain a like new look, even after use, am I going to be disappointed with either of these 2 knives?

my small plain sebenza has some marks on the handle from pocket stuff like rings, keys etc.

i like the wear look. others may not.

i would not describe these as scratches though. more like its 'lived in' if that makes any sense.

Normal EDC carry will result in some scratches on Ti ... unless you are super careful. I got wood inserts on mine to keep the Ti from contacting everything. We'll see if that was useful. I'd suggest the micarta inlays as the knife then comes with bead-blasted Ti scales and tumbled finish on the blade, both go a long way in hiding scratches.

Both the Sebenza and the Bradley scratch the same. Maybe consider a g-10 Alias 2 or a graphic Sebenza. The graphic Sebenzas wear better, I'd say.

Titanium marks quite easily. Unless dropped or hit against something hard you don't get deep scratches you just get what could be best described as rub marks.

Nothing to worry about IMO, it looks well loved and has character ;)

They both scratch easily.

My Umnumzaan has scratches all over it. I never put it, or any knife, in a pocket with keys, change or anything else. I don't care though, because I bought it for use as an outdoor folder. That is why I wouldn't buy a decorated Sebenza.

Remember, the Sebenza was origionaly designed as a survival folder, not a dress knife. It has kind of de-volved. (Pearl inlays anyone?)

If you don't like the scratching problem, keep looking. There are lots of other high quality knives out there. Many have synthetic handles that don't show wear and scratches at all.

$150-250 can buy you a very good knife.

Titanium scuffs easily, but I find the wear makes them look better. Knid of like a well worn pair of blue jeans.

I like to buy graphic sebenzas for three reasons. I like the way they look. They add some visual interest to soothe non knife loving people. I think they hide wear and tear a little better.
