I recently mailed off the balisong forum's passaround Kimura to the next flipper. I will say the edge that came on it was fantastic but it was NOT the factory edge. Due to a bent tip, a previous user sharpened and reprofiled the edge (and did a darn good job of it). I have only briefly handled one with a factory edge so I won't comment on that aspect. This is a little less organized than my usual reviews but all I really did with this knife was flip it. I didn't use it much for cutting.

I like the size of the knife. It is almost as long as a Benchmade 42 but it is a bit thinner, maybe 2/3s. This made it easy to carry. I didn't notice any problems with flipping the thin handles. The weight was nice, rollovers and twirls are very easy once you get the handles up to speed. The handle texture allows for a firm grip but is still slick enough to flip. The blade shape worked well for everything I did, mainly light cutting. One of my favorite things was how well the latch is done. The latch stays in place whether open or closed. This is my complaint about my Cold Steel Arc Angel, the latch is a little too easy to open or lock.

All in all the Kimura is an excellent knife, especially for the asking price of less than $90-100. This is on my list of knives to get and I've already recommended it to a few people who've expressed an interest in flipping.
