Bradley Kimura Sheath

So I recently bought myself a Bradley Kimura V, as well as a Linos kydex sheath. While the knife is wonderful, the sheath has some problems. The retention is way too tight; I really have to white knuckle the knife to get it out. I have already cut myself up trying to do that. Is this normal or is this a defective sheath? Is there any way to fix it?
