Bradley Vs. Stretch Blade Thickness

Ive been thinking about getting a Gayle Bradley for several months now.....

mainly for the cpm 4 steel. A question about the blade thickness of the

Bradley vs. the Stretch. Does the spline on the Bradley taper to a much

thinner spline/blade thickness as much as the Stretch. If not does the

Bradley spline/blade thickness stay thick most of the way to the point?

It would be great if someone with both knives could take a pic of the knives

one on top of the other to show the taper of the spline.

Thanx

If Paul or another forumite doesn't chime in until then, I could deliver Thursday :)

The 2 knives you mention have very different grinds. The GB is a hollow grind, and a secondary bevel with a small swedge on the spine of the blade. The Stretch is a FFG (Full Flat Grind) with a secondary bevel.
Because of the hollow grind, the GB does stay thicker towards the tip of the blade. Sorry for the huge picture.

Note that the Stretch blade is distally tapered while the GB isn't-the swedge just makes it look like that.

The Stretch blade pierces better, but they slice about the same. The GB has a great hollow grind-very high and thin.

Steel is great too.

Thanks for the pic RevDevil. Ive got a Stretch and wanted to see the

difference in the blade thickness of the 2 knives.

Certainly, glad to help. The GB will definitely be to your liking, especially if you are enjoying the Stretch.
