well I really didnt want to make my own thread but most of the "recomend me a knife" threads have vastly different criteria than what I am looking to buy.

Things I dont want:
benchmade - own way, way too many already, hence the title
bradley alias - again, I have one
microtech - have one
tanto blades
spyderco - I just think they are all ugly
deployment holes - want thumb studs please
lock back
MONSTER recurve - slight or reasonable is fine, but nothing like the ZT knives =/


Things I do want:
good steel - s30v, 154cm, d2, vg-10, zdp189
greater than 3 inch length
reasonable weight
frame lock, axis variations, liner - in that order, open to other types of locks
looks good - D: I know, but this does play a part in my decisions
tip up carry - not a deal breaker, but would be nice.

price range - at or around 200, slightly above is ok.

took a look at the emerson mini commander, despite its recurve, I think it looks pretty nice, so if you have one / thoughts on it, let me know.

any reason to get that over the mini commander? it seems a bit large, I was thinking closer to 3 than 4 inches, but if there is a legitimate reason to go for it I dont see why not.

also, anyone got opinions on the MOD ATFK?

Im not really looking for unusual knives, just something different for me.

also, after watching a video review, I am curious about a lone wolf t2.

If you like the style of the T2, check out the Beretta BH Tactical.

A couple of us here bought them last month directly from Beretta USA, they're on sale.

Their web site is a little misleading , but the larger knife ( 3.75) is closer to a 4" blade....very close is size to the T2.

It's made in Italy and has a Titanium liner, here's a few more specs....

4" CPM S30V stainless blade, 5 1/4" closed, G-10 handle, locking liner, reversible pocket clip.

If I get a chance later , I'll take picture of it with my Mini Commander.
 
Get a ZT 0200. 154cm, 3 7/8 inch blade, beefy liner lock, G10 handles. Since it's around $125 you might as well get a D2 or S30V leek to go with it.
