Well I'm not sure how all these clubs and little circles and whatnot work here ( The blank Mafia, The blankheads, etc. ;) ) But I have yet to branch away from Kershaw's and Buck's in my collecting/working. Well Moose I'm taking you up on your invite from my thread in General Knife Discussion, and here I am. Looking forward to my next purchase, which will be the KABAR in the window down at the PX. And after that, a Becker. And I thought juggling two brands was getting pricey. Boy am I in for a hurtin'. :D

Hurtin for a squirtin, I think you will like a BK2 or actually any of the becker knives....

Well, after I pick up the KABAR USMC, I'm thinkin' either the BK2 or BK7. I keep hearing legends (and have seen the BK2 destruction thread) about how tought the BK2 is, plus the KABAR is the same length as the BK7, so I figure maybe that one can wait. Also have not heard anything about the toughness of the BK7.

Gotta catch em all!
But seriously though, it's a sickness run while you can. :D

Edit: I like my BK7 more than I like my Next Gen Ka Bar. But you'll need a new sheath.

Bk2 or bk7, 7 first if you want a 7 inch blade, but the bk2 is the stuff legends are made of.

Here its is prying open a stump. Try doing that with your kershaw :D. No don't it'll void the warranty

And yet its still good enough to make the thinnest curls.....bk2 for sure

Welcome! If you're in Oceanside(Camp Pendleton) I'm guessing you're a Jarhead. Depending on your MOS, Id say the 2 will be more gear friendly, won't hang too low or take up too much real estate on your lbv. The 7 will probably be a bit more utilitarian, I'm speaking from an 0311 perspective. Does H&M sell any Beckers? I know they carry Ka-Bar.

The great thing about the BK2 is that it is confidence inspiring. You know nothing can really hurt it, so you can use it for whatever is needed and it will all work out in the end. It also feels like a bit knife stuffed into a little knifes body, if that makes any sense.

Yes one could say I am a jarhead. And my MOS requires that I sit in a dark container ( a 20 ft EMI shelter ) crammed full of gear, calibrating things. I rarely see the light of day Monday through Friday. And I have not seen any Beckers on base. They have the "KABAR USMC fighting knife" at the PX, and at the 'tactical' stores, they have Ruko's, Benchmade's, and a few cheapo no names. And I supposed considering that I'm already getting a knife in 7 inches, after the KABAR will be the BK2. And then the BK7...and then another Kershaw or two...and then another Buck 110...this sickness/addiction you all speak of, what's it called? What are the signs/symptoms? I don't I have it, there's no way. ;)

don't forget the BK14 -- makes a GREAT companion blade to the USMC knife.
3" spearpoint/drop point blade with skeleton handle and the sheath is ready for Molle locks or tek-clip.

I still like the BK11 better...call me crazy. The BK2 is the greatest knife ever made! The BK7 is going to get some abuse this weekend...

Guns guys have to have a 30-06 somewhere in the collection.

Knife guys have to have a BK2 Becker Train Wrecker in the collection.

I own both, and I am sure I could chop my Buck 119 in half with my BK2.

I own the 119 as well and I wouldn't even try half the stuff the BK2 can accomplish with ease.

I would take my 7mm over a 30-06 any day of the week without question.

Becker Necker is the 11. It has the built-in bottle opener.
EsKabar is the 14. It's the cross between the ESEE Izula (handle) and Becker Necker (blade).

Both are in this pic (7th and 8th from left), with added scales.
