I'd have gone for the sirupati, but my teeth are still hurting from the boomerang. Good catch, O Swinger of Sticks.

There was a time when I had a serious blade deficit. I actually had room on the walls of my den that wasn't filled with mounted sharp & pointy HI specimens. It seems so long ago..... And to you that still have the need, to those that still have some room left, I say that you have arrived at a most opportune time. The deals have never been better. The wares have never been so pristine. This is your time - your time to shine even brighter than the fogies of yesteryear. Shark on, me buckos, shark away with the blessings of the elders.....

I liked the look of that sirupati as well, so I sharked it.
It'll go well with the 20inch 32 ounce Sirupati I got the other day from the same Kami.
The Chitlangi looked good as well but I have two already.

Missed the Sirupati by a minute or two, but got the Chitlangi. Oh well--I've talked to Ms. Yangdu about a custom Sirupati anyway, once the Kamis have some time.

Congrats on that fine blade! Will we get to see one of your awesome videos featuring the Chitlangi? You made three vids that absolutely pushed me over the edge to purchase the respective featured knives (Lava, Kris and Rock Salt). I would love to see a video of the Sirupati, or any khukuri for that matter!

I've been meaning to do a bit more "big blade" stuff. Most of the Albo Kali Silat material focuses on what people in the U.S. generally carry on a daily basis--folders and (sometimes) small fixed blades. However, there are some big knives which are carried and used, and it is very easy to demonstrate the "stick trains blade and blade trains empty hand" when using a big blade first, then going to a smaller blade. I often use a Keen Edge American Bolo trainer to demonstrate this to students, prior to working with a Spyderco folding trainer.

In any case, I am glad you liked the videos and found them useful. Since you asked (and I need to do some big blade stuff anyway) I'll see about doing a video with the new khukuri soon, and maybe throw in a little work with a Bonecutter or some of the other bigger edged implements that I have in my collection.

IIRC you got a 12inch Boncutter by Murali Kami?

Having that size Khuk by the same Kami I would certainly be interested in seeing you put it into action! :D
