This is a KNIFE.

The 121 has been at least three different knives over the years.

Fillet, compromise hunter/fillet and finally, hunter.

This final version is a real hunting knife. Almost as long as the 119, just as thick and strong as the 105, razor sharp and perfectly crafted.

The one in the middle is a 2000 model, just in case you can't see the stamp.

I like the new one for its little bit of extra length over the 105, the slimmer, lighter, more "slicey" blade than the 119 and the overall heft and balance.

Well done, Buck.

I must say......if I could get another I would.

Alas......they have gone to "Not Currently Available" already.

Wish I had ordered two.

Nice
I had never looked at the 121 before...That is an awsome looking blade!
Thanx for the pics...

Thanks and you're welcome.

I said three different 121 versions, but I suppose you could call the one with a scaler on the top of the blade a fourth version.

Fascinating knife.

They could probably do a small run of this new version as a plain old user.

It's a useful configuration.

Hey BG...you got my screwed up brain going now:eek: How deep is that etching on the handle of that knife???

Now that 121 looks the business. That is a knife. Clean, brilliant lines, crisp grind, love the red. Excellent pics. Thank you kindly.

Thanks, guys.

SitFlyer......all I can say about the handle etching is that I can feel it when I run a finger across it, but it doesn't feel deep.

I think you could polish blade and handle to clean everything off and make a nice plain knife out of it, but you should ask Joe to be sure.......he would know.

Hard to get hold of one at a decent price now anyhow.

Perhaps they will become available again and my BCCI disc will make it affordable ;)

We never know, but it likely could become available again.......just have to keeping checking the website.

:)

I'm thinking they probably chop these new 121 blades out of the same 420HC stock they use for the 105s.

They appear to be the same thickness. I guess that first started when they made the 10 special 121s with scalers?? If I remember right.....they would have made more but the scaler notches kept catching in the equipment.

The only other similar one I can think of is the Buffalo Guide......that seems to be the same thickness.

Anyhow......this sure does make a nice, handy all-around knife with that new thick blade.

Now there's a 121 for every need.
