Just got this knife a couple hours ago. As I have not been able to find much of anything about it on the web, I feel I should share.

Knife in its crappy sheath (Most disappointing aspect of it)

A little size comparo with a Kershaw Shallot and Kanetsune Shinobi

Interesting, I get the feeling that the scales are not suited to it, with some black g-10 or micarta it would really be quite interesting!

Such a light wood with black oxidized blade seems pretty weird to me! & agreed the sheath is pretty horrendous.

Is the jimping on the thumb ramp square cuts?

Honestly it looks like it has all the hallmarks of a very cheaply made knife.

It's constructed of AUS-8.

The wood used in the handle is bamboo.

If memory serves correctly, the handles on all of the new "Camillus" pieces are bamboo.

I believe you're correct. The new Camillus makes another bamboo-handled knife I like the looks of. Some folks have complained about it, however, because it's reminiscent of a Busse Active Duty. Here's a borrowed pic:

reminiscent is a friendly word for design copy.
scales with reveal kill it for me as well.

Hey I didn't know Jerry Busse was designing for Taylor Cutlery :D

The jimping cuts are round. They do give a very good grip also.

I would rank overall fit and finish of this knife as good, but certainly not excellent. The "Carbonitride Titanium" finish looks good and has no imperfections out of the box. I am not a fan of how the scales were attached, I would much rather have simple screws, a la BK2.

Steel is AUS8, nothing special, but not a bad steel.
Blade came relatively sharp, not shaving, but cutting paper OK. I plan on fixing that pretty soon.

The knife fits in MY hand very well, even though the bamboo scales have little traction.

And finally, the cordura(I think) sheath is a piece of sh*t. Mainly due to being substantially larger than the knife requires. It leaves about a half inch on all sides of the knife to move around.
