Brand New Himalayan Imports Ang Khola Khukuri handmade by Kami Sher. The top dog of all choppers! This is a very rare khukuri. Sher has left for India and does not work for Himalayan Imports anymore. He has made some of the best khukuris ever. Steel is 5160 spring steel, hammer forged and differentially heat treated the way Sher knew how to do it. This is an ultra-heavy duty knife! The curved blade is 14" long, 2.5" wide and 5/8" thick!!! This is not a typo: the blade is 5/8" thick in front of the handle. The edge is convex. The total length is 20"! The total length in the sheath is 21.5"! The blade is totally straight. It has the traditional notch towards the heel of the edge which is typical for an original khukuri. This type of blade is made to deliver extreme chopping power due to its curvature, the blade width, the blade thickness and the edge formation. If you know how to swing this knife branches of a thick arm size will be cleaved away as if a laser beam went through them. Imagine what it can do to flesh! This blade will also pierce with the best.
The handle is exceptionally made. It is made of Satisal wood. Its length is 6 1/4" from the front of the collar to the butt.
The sheath is handmade of wood covered with water buffalo skin. The leather belt loop will easily accommodate belts up to 3" wide. This sheath is literally rock solid. Its metal tip will allow it to be used even as a lance is an emergency. It would go through flesh with ease. Excellent karda and chakma complete the package. The karda has a blade which is 3.5" long, 3/4" wide and 3/16 thick right in front of the handle. This knife features a convex edge as well and is very sharp! It can be used as a great bushcraft knife.
This is a knife to build civilization from scratch with. This 20” Ang Khola is arguably the best chopper of them all. Not for the faint at heart for sure! The knife alone weighs 2lbs 4oz., while the total weight of the knife in the sheath is 3lbs 11.2oz! A true warrior's knife par excellence. This knife is as dependable as a knife can be. It is literally impossible to break it by hand. You really need to handle it to be able to appreciate it.
