Brand new Manix - could it have PB washers?

It's brand new straight from my local store's distributor. Here's the clues:

1. The gap between the blade and the liner looks slightly bigger.

2. It's very smooth but just slightly tight -- reminds me of a new Sebenza.

3. If I hold it up to a light at just the right angle, I think I see a glint of the telltale bronze color.

Am I just dreaming? Yup, could be. Does anybody know whether and when they started shipping new Manix with PB?

BTW, this one has a perfectly centered blade, fit and finish is awesome, and I cannot find anything whatsoever wrong with it (just like my first one).

My manix has the PB washers. Dont know when they started using them, but when I took mine apart it had PB washers. I was suprised how small they were. Stuck right to the blade when I removed it.

I've inspected it more under stronger light, and I'm now certain these are PB.

I never had a problem with the Kapton washers, but this is a nice upgrade. Icing on the cake for such a great knife.

What are PB washers? What's wrong with being able to type out the whole thing? (my first question should read: WAPBW?)

It takes some getting used to. These days acronyms are very well used. Someone should have an on line dictionary of what they all mean.

LOL lots of laughs or is it laughing out loud?

BRB be right back.

BFD I think we all know that one

The ironic thing is that I hate acronyms and have to deal with new ones all the time at work. My last project had a whole batch of new ones: USOC (United States Olympic Committee), USTU (United States Taekwondo Union), USAT (United States of America Taekwondo), NGB (National Governing Body), NBG ("National Board of Governors) and several others.

Sorry! :o

Phosphor Bronze

The one that took me forever to find/learn was the IWB (in waist band) mode of carry. Another one was NIB (new in box). Yeah, I hate acronyms too.

My Question here is, Why are Phosphorus Bronze washers so important? I mean the slickest smoothest knife I own has Nylon washers what advantage would "PB" washers give it? Just had to ask :)
